Frequently asked questions
Everything investors most often ask about franchising in the UAE — from investment levels and timelines to territory, licensing and support.
Getting started
Franchising is a business model where an investor operates a business using an established brand, proven systems and ongoing support, in exchange for franchise fees and royalties.
Franchises reduce risk by offering tested concepts, brand recognition, structured operations and continuous support — unlike independent startups, which require building everything from scratch.
No prior experience is required. Franchise systems are designed to support both first-time and experienced investors through training and operational guidance.

Investment & returns
Investment requirements vary by brand, concept and format. Entry-level franchise models start from lower budgets, while premium brands require higher capital. Full details are shared in the Franchise Pack.
Franchise fees are one-time payments for brand access, while royalties are ongoing fees paid for continued use of the brand and support services.
No business investment is guaranteed. However, franchising offers a structured and lower-risk model compared to independent startups when managed correctly.

Territory & agreements
Territory refers to the geographic area assigned to a franchisee, which may be exclusive or non-exclusive depending on the franchisor’s policy.
Territory exclusivity depends on the brand, market strategy and franchise agreement. This is confirmed before signing any agreement.
The franchise agreement is signed after franchise selection and territory confirmation, and before business licensing and operational setup.
Setup, licensing & launch
On average the process takes between four and six months, depending on licensing, location approval, fit-out timelines and brand requirements.
